Shut off PCs, peripherals to help Eastern contain costs

There's nothing like a good night's sleep — especially for desktop computers.
Turning PCs off at the conclusion of the workday and powering them down during periods of inactivity during the day could save Eastern hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in electricity costs as well as extend the lives of computers themselves.
ITS supporting new Windows 7

Information Technology Services has begun supporting Microsoft's new Windows 7 operating system software.
Windows 7, which replaced Windows Vista, became available to the PC community Oct. 22 in the form of upgrades to existing operating systems as well as on newly purchased computers.
