Setting up your Apple iPhone or iPad for PantherMail

If you are a faculty or staff member, and you would like to set up your iPhone or iPad to synchronize email, contacts, and calendar events to and from PantherMail, follow the steps below.  If, upon following the steps, you run into issues, feel free to contact ITS Help at itshelp@eiu.edu or calling 217-581-4357(HELP).  In some instances, you might be asked to bring your device in to assist with setup.  Our office is located in Student Services Building, room 1014.

 

1) Select "Settings" on your device

2) Choose "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars"

3) Choose "Microsoft Exchange"

4) Enter the following information for each field, then tap "Next"

  • Email: eiu email address
  • Password: EIU Password
  • Description: Describe the account

5)The next screen should ask for some additional information.  Enter the appropriate information for each field and choose "Next"

  • Server: imap.eiu.edu
  • Domain: eiu.edu
  • Username: EIU NetID
  • Password: EIU Password

6) Choose which features you want to turn on or off and click "Save"

7) You should be all set!  Simply go to Mail to send/receive mail, Address Book to see your EIU contacts, or Calendar to see your EIU calendar.
