Dialing Instructions

  • Dialing ON-CAMPUS numbers requires dialing the seven digit phone number (ex. the number 581-5951).
  • Dialing (Local) OFF-CAMPUS Charleston and Mattoon numbers requires dialing the seven digit phone number.  A PIN number is not required.
  • Dialing Long Distance (anywhere outside of Charleston or Mattoon) requires a PIN number.
  • PIN Numbers (Personal Identification Numbers) are required to dial long distance from your on-campus residence, and toll free services such as 888, 877, or 800 numbers.
  • Please come to the Telecommunications Office during regular office hours with a valid ID to receive your eight digit PIN number.
  • Your PIN Number is CONFIDENTIAL !!!
  • Students are responsible for all billing on their PIN number.
  • Report LOST or COMPROMISED PIN numbers immediately to the Telecom office at 581-5951.
